To her delight, Pico returned to the dock this past weekend for the Fire on the Dock Fest, in Union Springs NY. Pico showed how thrilled she was to be back dock diving by jumping 26′11″ on her first jump, with no practice jumps beforehand. I think we’ll stick to that formula in future! (more…)

Temporarily, anyway!

There will be no Hamburg event for Pico this weekend. She hurt her paw somehow two weeks ago, and although Pico says she is 100% recovered and should be taken to agility class and dock diving events IMMEDIATELY, I am going to listen to the vet and keep her on the bench for the amount of time prescribed.

No matter, there are several good events on the horizon, one in the Syracuse area on 4th of July weekend, then Worlds, then (or instead if gas prices keep climbing) an event in Bel Air Maryland with 11 waves. Pico will have plenty to keep her busy!

Pico is waiting very patiently for her first dock dogs event of the season. It comes in two weeks, in Hamburg PA. In the meantime we’ve finally been able to start practicing, as the dock and pool where we train has finally opened after many snafus. I’m going to try and get some videos of Pico’s practice jumps tomorrow. Until then, check out the new pictures of Pico taken at the CATO NY trial and two awesome ones taken by our friend Nicole Fischer at JAG’s trial. Nicole is an incredibly talented photographer, Pico only did a few obstacles in that ring, before I pulled her out for over the top antics. Nicole managed to get two superb shots regardless!

Pico and I had the most incredible stroke of luck at Over Rover Agility trial in Cato NY this weekend! We got the team Q we’ve been trying to get for almost a year! (more…)
