To her delight, Pico returned to the dock this past weekend for the Fire on the Dock Fest, in Union Springs NY. Pico showed how thrilled she was to be back dock diving by jumping 26′11″ on her first jump, with no practice jumps beforehand. I think we’ll stick to that formula in future!

The rest of her jumps were pretty good too, and we ended up winning the event. The best thing about the event was seeing our friends, who we have not seen since last October. The second best thing was that most of these friends are extremely good cooks, which made for some tasty dinners and desserts Friday and Saturday nights!

It looks like our next event will be Dock Dogs World Championships. It is televised, which is definitely not a selling point in my book, but it will be nice to see teams from other parts of the country.  Pico’s doing a totally different conditioning program this year, so it will be interesting to see how that translates into jumps off the dock.
