I think I’ve changed my mind about going to the Super Retriever Series event in North Carolina.

I’ve calculated my vacation days and have just enough to do the events I want to - Worlds, Dock Dog’s Nationals and USDAA Nationals and have a few left over for anything else that might come down the pike. I would not have enough to go to the Crown Classic in Hot Springs in June, assuming we would even qualify. Given the dogs who might be in North Carolina, qualifying for the Crown Classic will be no cakewalk! Given the dogs who’ve qualified at SRS in Oregon though, the Crown Classic should be a great event.

Instead I’ve entered an agility trial in MA that will take place the same weekend as SRS. It will be a heck of a lot cheaper than a trip to NC, and I’m not sure how many weekends I’ll have available for agility anyway, so I might as well take whichever ones I can get.

So, unless Pico does something absolutely amazing at Pawsabilities in two weeks to convince me that I’d be a fool to miss SRS, we’ll be doing agility instead.
